حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْبُوذٌ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا بَيْنَا هِيَ جَالِسَةٌ عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَتْ مَا لَكَ شَعِثًا قَالَ أُمُّ عَمَّارٍ مُرَجِّلَتِي حَائِضٌ فَقَالَتْ أَيْ بُنَيَّ وَأَيْنَ الْحَيْضَةُ مِنْ الْيَدِ لَقَدْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى إِحْدَانَا وَهِيَ مُتَّكِئَةٌ حَائِضٌ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهَا حَائِضٌ فَيَتَّكِئُ عَلَيْهَا فَيَتْلُو الْقُرْآنَ وَهُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَيْهَا أَوْ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا قَاعِدَةً وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَيَتَّكِئُ فِي حِجْرِهَا فَيَتْلُو الْقُرْآنَ فِي حِجْرِهَا وَتَقُومُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَتَبْسُطُ لَهُ الْخُمْرَةَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ وقَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ خُمْرَتَهُ فَيُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا فِي بَيْتِي أَيْ بُنَيَّ وَأَيْنَ الْحَيْضَةُ مِنْ الْيَدِ.
English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Bakr told us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us: Manbudh informed me that his mother informed him that while she was sitting with Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, Ibn 'Abbas came in to her. She said: "Why is your hair disheveled?" He said: "Umm 'Ammar, my hairdresser, is menstruating." She said: "O my son, what does menstruation have to do with the hand? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to come in to one of us while she was reclining, menstruating, knowing that she was menstruating, and he would recline against her and recite the Qur'an while reclining against her; or he would come in to her while she was sitting, menstruating, and recline in her lap and recite the Qur'an in her lap; and she would get up while menstruating and spread out the khumrah for him in his place of prayer" - Ibn Bakr said: "his khumrah" - "and he would pray on it, in my house. O my son, what does menstruation have to do with the hand?"
