حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ بَعَثَ إِلَيْنَا آلُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ بِقَائِمَةِ شَاةٍ لَيْلًا فَأَمْسَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَطَعْتُ أَوْ أَمْسَكْتُ وَقَطَعَ فَقَالَ الَّذِي تُحَدِّثُهُ أَعَلَى غَيْرِ مِصْبَاحٍ فَقَالَتْ لَوْ كَانَ عِنْدَنَا مِصْبَاحٌ لَائْتَدَمْنَا بِهِ إِنْ كَانَ لَيَأْتِي عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الشَّهْرُ مَا يَخْتَبِزُونَ خُبْزًا وَلَا يَطْبُخُونَ قِدْرًا.
English Translation
Aisha reported: The family of Abu Bakr sent us a leg of a sheep at night. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) held it while I cut, or I held it while he cut. The one she was telling said: Without a lamp? She said: If we had a lamp, we would have used it for cooking oil. A whole month would pass upon the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him) without them baking bread or cooking in a pot.
