حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ أَخْبَرَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَمْ تَرَيْ إِلَى قَوْمِكِ حِينَ بَنَوْا الْكَعْبَةَ اقْتَصَرُوا عَنْ قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَرُدُّهَا عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْلَا حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ فَوَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ سَمِعَتْ ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أُرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَرَكَ اسْتِلَامَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يَلِيَانِ الْحَجَرَ إِلَّا أَنَّ الْبَيْتَ لَمْ يُتَمَّمْ عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام إِرَادَةَ أَنْ تَسْتَوْعِبَ النَّاسُ الطَّوَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ كُلِّهِ مِنْ وَرَاءِ قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام.
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Abbas told us: Abu Uways told us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn Abdullah: that Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq informed Abdullah ibn Umar, from A'ishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Have you not seen that when your people built the Ka'bah, they fell short of the foundations of Ibrahim, peace be upon him?" She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will you not restore it upon the foundations of Ibrahim?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Were it not that your people have so recently emerged from disbelief." Abdullah ibn Umar said: By Allah, if A'ishah heard that from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then I do not think the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) left off touching the two corners adjoining the Stone except because the House had not been completed upon the foundations of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, so that people might encompass the whole House in their circumambulation, from behind the foundations of Ibrahim, peace be upon him.
