English Translation
Yahya ibn Ishaq told us: Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, from Khalid ibn Abi Imran, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from A'ishah, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will the beloved remember his beloved on the Day of Resurrection?" He said, "O A'ishah, at three moments, no: not at the Scale, until it grows heavy or light; not at the flying of the records, when one is given his book in his right hand or given it in his left; and when a neck emerges from the Fire, coiling around them and raging at them, and that neck says: 'I have been entrusted with three, I have been entrusted with three: I have been entrusted with whoever claimed another god along with Allah; and I have been entrusted with whoever does not believe in the Day of Reckoning; and I have been entrusted with every obstinate tyrant.'" He said, "Then it coils around them and casts them into the depths of the Fire. Hell has a bridge finer than a hair and sharper than a sword, upon it are hooks and thorns; it seizes whomever Allah wills, while people cross it like the blink of an eye, like lightning, like the wind, like the swiftest of horses and riding beasts. And the angels say: 'My Lord, grant safety, my Lord, grant safety.' So some are saved unharmed, some are saved scratched, and some are flung headlong into the Fire upon their faces."
