حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَصَالِحِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا أَمَرَتْ بِجِنَازَةِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنْ يُمَرَّ بِهَا عَلَيْهَا فَمُرَّ بِهَا عَلَيْهَا فَبَلَغَهَا أَنْ قَدْ قِيلَ فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ مَا أَسْرَعَ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْقَوْلِ وَاللَّهِ مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سُهَيْلِ بْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ.
English Translation
Surayj told us: Fulayh told us, from Muhammad ibn Abbad ibn Abdullah and Salih ibn Ajlan, from Abbad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, from A'isha, that she ordered that the funeral bier of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas be carried past her, and it was carried past her. Then it reached her that something had been said about that, so she said: "How quick people are to speak! By Allah, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed over Suhayl ibn Bayda' only in the mosque."
