English Translation

Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us: Abdullah bin al-Ala narrated to us: Abu Ziyad Ubaydullah bin Ziyad al-Kindi narrated to me, from Bilal, that he told him he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to inform him of the dawn prayer, and Aishah kept Bilal occupied with a matter she asked him about, until dawn had fully broken and it became very late. Bilal got up and informed him of the prayer, and repeated his call, but the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not come out. When he came out and led the people in prayer, he told him that Aishah had kept him occupied with a matter she asked him about until it became very late, and that he had then been slow to come out. He said: I had performed the two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer. He said: O Messenger of Allah, you have made it very late. He said: Even if I made it later than I did, I would perform them and perfect them and make them excellent.
