English Translation
Yahya narrated to us from Wa'il ibn Dawud, he said: I heard Abdullah al-Bahi (relate) that a group of riders stopped before Uthman ibn Affan and praised him and lauded him, and al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad was present there. He took a handful of dust from the ground and threw it in the faces of the riders, and said: "The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'When you hear the flatterers, throw dust in their faces.'"
