English Translation
Abd al-Salam ibn Harb narrated to us, Yazid ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Dalani narrated to me, from Abu al-Ala' al-Awdi, from Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: When two invitations coincide, respond to the one whose door is nearer, for the one whose door is nearer has the nearer claim of neighborliness; and if one of them comes first, respond to the one who came first.
