حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى مِنْ أَهْلِ مَرْوَ حَدَّثَنَا أَوْسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَخِي سَهْلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي بُعُوثٌ كَثِيرَةٌ فَكُونُوا فِي بَعْثِ خُرَاسَانَ ثُمَّ انْزِلُوا مَدِينَةَ مَرْوَ فَإِنَّهُ بَنَاهَا ذُو الْقَرْنَيْنِ وَدَعَا لَهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ وَلَا يَضُرُّ أَهْلَهَا سُوءٌ.
English Translation
Al-Hasan ibn Yahya, of the people of Marw, told us: Aws ibn Abdullah ibn Buraydah told us: my brother Sahl ibn Abdullah ibn Buraydah informed me, from his father, from his grandfather Buraydah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: There will be many military expeditions after me, so be among the expedition to Khurasan, then settle in the city of Marw, for it was built by Dhu al-Qarnayn, who prayed for blessing upon it, and no evil will harm its people.
