قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَأْكُلْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَإِذَا شَرِبَ فَلَا يَشْرَبْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَإِذَا أَخَذَ فَلَا يَأْخُذْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَإِذَا أَعْطَى فَلَا يُعْطِي بِشِمَالِهِ.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Abi Kathir said: and Abdullah ibn Abi Talha narrated to me that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When one of you eats, let him not eat with his left hand; when he drinks, let him not drink with his left hand; when he takes something, let him not take it with his left hand; and when he gives something, let him not give it with his left hand.
