English Translation
Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us: Sharik narrated to us, from Asim, from Abu al-Aliya, from Thawban, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: "Who will guarantee me one thing, and I will guarantee him Paradise?" Thawban said, "I will." He said, "Do not ask people" — meaning for anything. He said, "Yes." He said: So he never asked anyone for anything after that.
