حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ وَحَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ وَثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ.
English Translation
Muhammad b. Ja'far and Ibn Mahdi told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from al-Hakam and Hammad, from Ibrahim, from Abu 'Abdullah al-Jadali, from Khuzaymah b. Thabit, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning wiping over the leather socks, that he said: "A day and a night for the resident, and three days and their nights for the traveler."
