حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ يَمْسَحُ الْمُسَافِرُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ وَالْمُقِيمُ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً.
English Translation
Isma'il told us, Hisham al-Dastawa'i told us, Hammad told us, from Ibrahim, from Abu 'Abdullah al-Jadali, from Khuzaymah b. Thabit, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: "The traveler wipes over the leather socks for three nights, and the resident for a day and a night."
