حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ قَالَ قِيلَ لِأُسَامَةَ أَلَا تُكَلِّمُ هَذَا قَالَ قَدْ كَلَّمْتُهُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُجَاءُ بِرَجُلٍ فَيُطْرَحُ فِي النَّارِ فَيَطْحَنُ فِيهَا كَطَحْنِ الْحِمَارِ بِرَحَاهُ فَيُطِيفُ بِهِ أَهْلُ النَّارِ فَيَقُولُونَ يَا فُلَانُ أَلَسْتَ كُنْتَ تَأْمُرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَى عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ فَيَقُولُ إِنِّي كُنْتُ آمُرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلَا أَفْعَلُهُ وَأَنْهَى عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأَفْعَلُهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بِنَحْوٍ مِنْهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ زَادَ فِيهِ فَتَنْدَلِقُ أَقْتَابُ بَطْنِهِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Sulayman, who said: I heard Abu Wa'il say: It was said to Usamah: Why do you not speak to this man? He said: I have spoken to him. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: A man will be brought and cast into the Fire, and he will be ground in it like the grinding of a donkey turning its millstone. The people of the Fire will gather around him and say: O so-and-so, did you not used to enjoin good and forbid evil? He will say: I used to enjoin good and not do it, and forbid evil and do it. Shu'bah said: Mansur also related to me from Abu Wa'il, from Usamah, something similar, except that he added in it: and his intestines will spill out.
