حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام لَمَّا نَزَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَّمَهُ الْوُضُوءَ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ وُضُوئِهِ أَخَذَ حَفْنَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَرَشَّ بِهَا نَحْوَ الْفَرْجِ قَالَ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرُشُّ بَعْدَ وُضُوئِهِ.
English Translation
Haytham told us - Abdullah said: I also heard it from al-Haytham ibn Kharijah - Rishdin ibn Sa'd told us, from Uqayl, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from Usamah ibn Zayd, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that when Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he taught him ablution, and when he finished his ablution he took a handful of water and sprinkled it toward the private parts. He said: So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to sprinkle water after his ablution.
