English Translation
Yahya told us, from Sufyan: Suhayl ibn Abi Salih told me, from Abdullah ibn Yazid, who said: I asked Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab about the hyena, and he disliked it. I said to him: 'Your people eat it.' He said: 'They do not know [it is prohibited].' Then a man present said: 'I heard Abu al-Darda narrate from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he forbade every animal that plunders its prey, every animal that snatches by force, and every fanged beast of prey.' Sa'id said: 'He spoke the truth.'
