English Translation
Abd al-Malik ibn Amr narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Mansur, from Rib'i ibn Hirash, from Abu Dharr, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, loves three and hates three: He hates the elderly adulterer, the arrogant poor man, and the wealthy miser who has much yet withholds; and He loves three: a man who was in a battalion and turned back to protect them until he was killed or Allah granted him victory; a man who was among a people who traveled by night and halted in the last part of the night, and sleep was more beloved to them than anything that could be weighed against it, yet he rose, reciting My verses and flattering Me [in supplication]; and a man who was among a people to whom a man came asking them by a kinship between them and him, but they were stingy toward him, while one lagging behind them gave to him where none could see him except Allah and the one to whom he gave." Mu'ammal narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Mansur, from Rib'i, from a man, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah hates..." -- and he mentioned the hadith.
