حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قَزَعَةَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْبَصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ثُوَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ { وَأَلْزَمَهُمْ كَلِمَةَ التَّقْوَى } قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ.
English Translation
Abdullah narrated to us: Al-Hasan ibn Qaza'ah Abu Ali al-Basri narrated to us: Sufyan ibn Habib narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Thuwayr, from his father, from At-Tufayl, from his father, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say regarding [the verse]: "And He made them adhere to the word of piety" -- he said: [It means] "There is no god but Allah."
