English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: Hammad b. Salama narrated to us: Thabit informed us that Abu Bakra said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade flicking pebbles. A cousin of his took one and said: "[Forbidding] this?" and flicked it. He said: "Am I not telling you of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, that he forbade it, and yet you flick pebbles? By God, I will not speak to you — a solemn vow — as long as I live," or something to that effect.
