English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: Wuhayb and Yazid — meaning Ibn Zurayi' — narrated to us, both saying: Khalid al-Hadhdha' narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra, from Abu Bakra, who said: A man praised another man in the presence of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Woe to you, you have cut off your companion's neck, time and again! If any of you must praise his companion, let him say: 'I consider so-and-so to be such — and God is his reckoner, and I do not attest to anyone's purity before God, Blessed and Exalted, if he knows that to be so — I consider him to be such and such.'"
