English Translation
Yazid informed us: Hammam, from Qatada, from al-Hasan, from Abu Bakra, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let none of you say: 'I fasted the whole of Ramadan and stood in prayer through all of it.'" Al-Hasan said: My father said — and Yazid said once: Qatada said: "God knows best whether he feared self-commendation for his nation, or meant that there must be someone dozing off or heedless."
