حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَن أَيُّوبَ وَرَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَن أَيُّوبَ عَن أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَن أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَن سَمُرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْبَيَاضِ فَيَلْبَسُهُ أَخْيَارُكُمْ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ فَلْيَلْبَسْهُ أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهِ مَوْتَاكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَن أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ قَالَ سَمُرَةُ فَذَكَرَهُ وَذَكَرَ يَعْنِي عَفَّانَ عَن وُهَيْبٍ أَيْضًا لَيْسَ فِيهِ أَبُو الْمُهَلَّبِ.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar told us, from Ayyub — and Rawh told us, Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah told us, from Ayyub — from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Muhallab, from Samurah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Wear this white cloth; let your best ones wear it — and Rawh said, 'let your living wear it' — and shroud your dead in it, for it is among the best of your garments. Affan told us, Hammad ibn Zayd told us, Ayyub told us, from Abu Qilabah, who said: Samurah said such-and-such — and Affan also mentioned it from Wuhayb, without Abu al-Muhallab in it.
