English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatada, from al-Hasan, from Jawn ibn Qatada, from Salama ibn al-Muhabbiq, that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came upon a waterskin on the day of Hunayn and asked for water from it; there was a woman beside it who said, "It is from a dead animal." He said, "Ask her, has it not been tanned?" She said, "Yes indeed." So he used some of it for his need, and said, "The slaughtering of a hide is its tanning."
