English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, from Shabib, that he heard the tribe relating from Urwah al-Bariqi, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent him with a dinar to buy him a sacrificial animal — he said once, or a sheep — so he bought him two, and sold one for a dinar, and brought him the other, and he supplicated for blessing for him in his dealings; so that had he bought dust, he would have profited from it. Yahya ibn Sa’id narrated to us, from Zakariyya, from al-Sha’bi, from Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja’d, who said — and my father narrated to me: Abu Kamil narrated to us, from Sa’id ibn Zayd, from al-Zubayr, from Abu Labid, from Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja’d, my father said — and Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, from Isra’il, from Abu Ishaq, from Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja’d — all of them said "Ibn Abi al-Ja’d."
