حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْحُشُوشَ مُحْتَضَرَةٌ فَإِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْخَلَاءَ فَلْيَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ.
English Translation
Ibn Mahdi told us: Shu'bah told us, from Qatadah, from al-Nadr ibn Anas, from Zayd ibn Arqam: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: These privies are frequented by devils, so when one of you enters the toilet, let him say: I seek refuge in Allah from filth and evil spirits.
