حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِيَادٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ نَابِي يَعْنِي نَائِي وَنَحْنُ فِي الصَّفِّ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَخَلَ فِي الصَّفِّ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا فَرَفَعَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَاسْتَنْكَرُوا الرَّجُلَ فَقَالُوا مَنْ الَّذِي يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ هَذَا الْعَالِي الصَّوْتَ قَالَ هُوَ ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ كَلَامَكَ يَصْعَدُ فِي السَّمَاءِ حَتَّى فُتِحَ بَابٌ مِنْهَا فَدَخَلَ فِيهِ.
English Translation
Affan told us: Ubaydullah ibn Iyad told us: Iyad told us, from Abdullah ibn Sa'id, from Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa, who said: A man came from afar while we were in the row behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He entered the row, then said, "Allah is greatest, most great, and glory be to Allah morning and evening." The Muslims raised their heads and disapproved of the man, saying, "Who is raising his voice above the voice of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, finished, he said, "Who is the one with the loud voice?" He said, "Here he is, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "By Allah, I saw your words ascending to the sky until a gate of it was opened and they entered through it."
