English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us, al-Shaybani informed us, from Muhammad ibn Abi al-Mujalid, he said: The people of the mosque sent me to Ibn Abi Awfa to ask him what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did with the food of Khaybar. So I went to him and asked him about that. I said: Did he take a fifth of it? He said: No, it was less than that. He said: And whenever one of us wanted something of it, he would take what he needed of it.
