حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَنَمَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى فَأَخَفَّ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ قُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا الْيَقْظَانِ لَقَدْ خَفَّفْتَ قَالَ فَهَلْ رَأَيْتَنِي انْتَقَصْتُ مِنْ حُدُودِهَا شَيْئًا قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَإِنِّي بَادَرْتُ بِهَا سَهْوَةَ الشَّيْطَانِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيُصَلِّي الصَّلَاةَ مَا يُكْتَبُ لَهُ مِنْهَا إِلَّا عُشْرُهَا تُسْعُهَا ثُمُنُهَا سُبُعُهَا سُدُسُهَا خُمُسُهَا رُبُعُهَا ثُلُثُهَا نِصْفُهَا.
English Translation
Safwan ibn Isa told us: Ibn Ajlan informed us, from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Umar ibn al-Hakam, from Abdullah ibn Anamah, who said: I saw Ammar ibn Yasir enter the mosque and pray, making the prayer brief. He said: When he came out, I got up to him and said: "O Abu al-Yaqzan, you have made it brief." He said: "Did you see me omit any of its prescribed elements?" I said: "No." He said: "I hastened through it to forestall the forgetfulness caused by Satan; I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'A servant may pray the prayer, yet nothing is recorded for him of it except a tenth of it, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a fourth, or a third, or a half.'"
