English Translation
Hasan and Bahz told us - the meaning being the same - they said: Hammad b. Salama told us, from Simak b. Harb, from al-Nu'man b. Bashir, who said: I think it is from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "A man traveled in a barren land" - Hasan said in his account, meaning a wilderness - "and stopped beneath a tree, with his riding animal beside him carrying his water-skin and food. He fell asleep and woke to find it gone. He climbed a hill but did not see it; then he climbed another hill but did not see it; then he turned around, and there it was, dragging its halter. He was not more joyful at finding it than Allah is at the repentance of His servant when he repents" - Bahz said: "His servant when he repents to Him." Bahz said, Hammad said: I think it is from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
