حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ الضَّحَّاكَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ سَأَلَ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ بِمَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ مَعَ سُورَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ.
English Translation
Abd al-Rahman b. Mahdi told us: Malik told us, from Damra b. Sa'id, from Ubaydullah b. Abdullah, that al-Dahhak b. Qays asked al-Nu'man b. Bashir what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite on Friday along with Surat al-Jumu'a. He said: "Has there come to you the story of the overwhelming event [al-Ghashiya]?"
