حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَا أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وحَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ أَنَّ وَرَّادًا مَوْلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ كَتَبَ إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ كَتَبَ ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابَ لَهُ وَرَّادٌ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ حِينَ يُسَلِّمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ قَالَ وَرَّادٌ ثُمَّ وَفَدْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَأْمُرُ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ الْقَوْلِ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُوهُ.
English Translation
Abdul Razzaq and Ibn Bakr told us, they said, Ibn Jurayj informed us - and Rawh told us, Ibn Jurayj told us - Abdah ibn Abi Lubabah informed me, that Warrad, the freed servant of al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, informed him that al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah wrote to Mu'awiyah - Warrad wrote that letter for him - "I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, upon finishing the prayer with the salam: 'There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise. O Allah, none can withhold what You have given, and none can give what You have withheld, and the fortune of the fortunate does not avail him against You.'" Warrad said, Then I later came as a delegate to Mu'awiyah, and I heard him on the pulpit commanding the people with that saying and teaching it to them.
