حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ بَابٍ عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ آخِرَ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي إِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ رُطَبَاتٌ وَفِي الْأُخْرَى قِثَّاءٌ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَيَعَضُّ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَقَالَ إِنَّ أَطْيَبَ الشَّاةِ لَحْمُ الظَّهْرِ.
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Ja'far said: The last thing I saw of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) — he had fresh dates in one hand and cucumbers in the other, eating from this and biting from that. He also said: 'The best part of the sheep is the meat of the back.'
