English Translation
Abdullah ibn Numayr told us, from Uthman ibn Hakim, who said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd al-Aziz informed me, from Ya'la ibn Murrah, who said: I indeed saw from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, three things which no one saw before me and no one will see after me. I went out with him on a journey, and when we were on part of the road, we passed by a woman sitting with a child of hers. She said, 'O Messenger of Allah, this is a child afflicted with an affliction, and we have been afflicted through him - he is seized a number of times a day, I do not know how many.' He said, 'Hand him to me.' So she lifted him up to him, and he placed him between himself and the front of the saddle, then he opened his mouth and blew into it three times, and said, 'In the name of Allah, I am the servant of Allah, be gone, enemy of Allah.' Then he handed him back to her and said, 'Meet us at this place on our return, and tell us what happened.' He said: We went and returned, and we found her in that place with three sheep. He said, 'What happened with your child?' She said, 'By the One who sent you with the truth, we have not felt anything from him until this very hour, so drive these sheep along with you.' He said, 'Get down and take one of them, and return the rest.' He said: And one day I went out with him to open ground, and when we had gone out into the open, he said, 'Look, woe to you - do you see anything that could screen me?' I said, 'I do not see anything to screen you except a tree, and I do not think it will screen you.' He said, 'What is near it?' I said, 'A tree like it, or close to it.' He said, 'Go to them both and say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commands you both to come together, by Allah's permission.' He said: So they came together, and he relieved himself behind them, then he returned and said, 'Go to them both and say to them: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commands you both that each of you return to its place.' So it returned. He said: And I was sitting with him one day when a camel came trotting until it lowered its neck before him, then its eyes shed tears. He said, 'Woe to you, look whose camel this is - it indeed has some matter.' He said: So I went out searching for its owner, and I found it belonged to a man from the Ansar, so I called him to him. He said, 'What is the matter with this camel of yours?' He said, 'What is its matter?' He said, 'I do not know, by Allah, what its matter is - we worked it and drew water with it until it became unable to draw water, so we decided last night to slaughter it and divide its meat.' He said, 'Do not do that - give it to me, or sell it to me.' He said, 'Rather it is yours, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: So he marked it with the mark of charity, then sent it away.
