حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي أَنَسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَافِعِ ابْنِ الْعَمْيَاءِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى تَشَهَّدُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَتَبَأَّسُ وَتَمَسْكَنُ وَتُقْنِعُ يَدَيْكَ وَتَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ اللَّهُمَّ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقُلْتُ صَلَاتُهُ خِدَاجٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مَا الْإِقْنَاعُ فَبَسَطَ يَدَيْهِ كَأَنَّهُ يَدْعُو.
English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abd Rabbihi ibn Sa'id, from Ibn Abi Anas, from Abdullah ibn Nafi' ibn al-Amya', from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from al-Muttalib, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The prayer is two by two; you recite the tashahhud in every two rak'ahs, and you show humility and submissiveness, and you hold out your two hands, and you say, O Allah, O Allah. Whoever does not do that, it is deficient. Shu'bah said: I said, His prayer is deficient? He said: Yes. I said to him: What is the holding out (of the hands)? So he spread out his hands as though he were supplicating.
