حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَوْمًا فَصَلَّى عَلَى أَهْلِ أُحُدٍ صَلَاتَهُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ إِلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي فَرَطٌ لَكُمْ وَإِنِّي شَهِيدٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَإِنِّي وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْحَوْضِ أَلَا وَإِنِّي قَدْ أُعْطِيتُ مَفَاتِيحَ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ أَوْ مَفَاتِيحَ الْأَرْضِ إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تُشْرِكُوا بَعْدِي وَلَكِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تَنَافَسُوا فِيهَا.
English Translation
Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, al-Layth ibn Sa'd narrated to us, Yazid ibn Abi Habib told me, from Abu al-Khayr, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went out one day and performed the funeral prayer over the people of Uhud as one prays over the dead, then he went to the pulpit and said, "I am a forerunner for you, and I am a witness over you, and by Allah, I am truly looking now at the Pool. Indeed, I have been given the keys of the treasures of the earth" - or "the keys of the earth." "By Allah, I do not fear that you will associate partners with Allah after me, but I fear that you will compete with one another over it."
