English Translation
Rawh narrated to us: Zam'a b. Salih narrated to us, who said: I heard Ibn Shihab narrating that Abu Umama b. Sahl b. Hunayf informed him, from Abu Umama Asad b. Zurara - who was one of the leaders on the day of al-Aqaba - that he was struck by a thorn, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him, and said: "What a bad death it would be for the Jews" - twice - "they would say: 'If only he had warded off harm from his companion.' Yet I have no power over harm or benefit for him, and I shall indeed use every remedy for him." He ordered it, and he was cauterized with two lines above his head, then he died.
