حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تُبَادِرُونِي فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ فَإِنِّي قَدْ بَدَّنْتُ وَمَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا رَكَعْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي إِذَا رَفَعْتُ وَمَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا سَجَدْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي إِذَا رَفَعْتُ.
English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us from Ibn 'Ajlan from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban from Ibn Muhayriz from Mu'awiya, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Do not race ahead of me in bowing and prostration, for I have grown heavy in body; whatever I precede you in when I bow, you will catch up with me when I rise, and whatever I precede you in when I prostrate, you will catch up with me when I rise.'
