حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَرَقَ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ شِبْرًا طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ وَبَلَغَنِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ زَادَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَمَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ.
English Translation
Sa'id ibn Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: 'Whoever steals a hand span of land will have it hung around his neck from seven earths.' Ma'mar added: 'And I was informed from al-Zuhri — though I did not hear it from him — an addition to this hadith: And whoever is killed defending his wealth is a martyr.'
