قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثُوَيْرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ هَذَا يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ فَصُومُوا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ صُومُوهُ.
English Translation
He said: al-Aswad ibn Amir told us, he said: Isra'il told us, he said: Thuwayr told us, he said: I heard Ibn az-Zubayr say: "This is the day of Ashura, so fast it, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Fast it.'"
