English Translation
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us: Abu Ja'far — that is al-Razi — narrated to us, from Yazid b. Abi Malik: Abu Siba' narrated to us: I bought a she-camel from the household of Wathilah b. al-Asqa'. When I set out with it, Wathilah caught up with us, dragging his cloak, and said, "O servant of Allah, have you bought it?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Has it been made clear to you what is wrong with her?" I said, "What is wrong with her?" He said, "She is fat, apparently healthy." Then he said, "Did you intend her for travel or for meat?" I said, "Rather, I intended to perform Hajj upon her." He said, "Then there is a puncture in her hoof." He said: Her owner then said, "May Allah amend you, why do you ruin this for me?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'It is not lawful for anyone who sells something except that he make clear what is wrong with it, nor is it lawful for anyone who knows that except that he make it clear.'"
