قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَ مِنْ الصَّفَا مَشَى حَتَّى إِذَا انْصَبَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي بَطْنِ الْوَادِي سَعَى حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِنْهُ.
English Translation
He said: I read to Abd al-Rahman: Malik - and Ishaq told us, Malik informed us, from Ja'far, from his father, from Jabir ibn Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when he descended from Safa, would walk until, when his feet went down into the bottom of the valley, he would run until he emerged from it.
