English Translation
Khalaf ibn al-Walid told us, Abbad ibn Abbad told us, from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A stray animal is exempt from liability, a well is exempt, a mine is exempt, and on buried treasure a fifth is due." And al-Sha'bi said: "Rikaz is treasure from ancient times."
