حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ آدَمَ وَصَوَّرَهُ ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتْرُكَهُ فَجَعَلَ إِبْلِيسُ يُطِيفُ بِهِ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَجْوَفَ عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ خَلْقٌ لَا يَتَمَالَكُ.
English Translation
Affan told us: Hammad told us: Thabit informed us, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When Allah, Mighty and Sublime, created Adam and formed him, He left him in Paradise for as long as Allah willed to leave him. Then Iblis began to go around him, and when he saw that he was hollow, he knew that he was a creation that could not control itself."
