English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi told us: Ibrahim ibn Sa'd informed us: Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Muslim, the nephew of Ibn Shihab, told us, from his father, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about al-Kawthar, and he said: 'It is a river which God, Mighty and Majestic, has given me in Paradise; its soil is musk, its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey; birds come to it whose necks are like the necks of camels.' Abu Bakr said, 'O Messenger of God, they must indeed be plump.' He said, 'Those who eat them are even more well-fed than they.'
