English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Muslims at Badr heard him — meaning the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him — calling out, "O Abu Jahl ibn Hisham! O Shaybah ibn Rabi'ah! O Utbah ibn Rabi'ah! O Umayyah ibn Khalaf! Have you found what your Lord promised you to be true? For I have found what my Lord promised me to be true." They said, "How can you speak to people who have become corpses, or who cannot respond?" He said, "You do not hear what I say any better than they do."
