English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, who said: I heard 'Ali ibn Zayd say: I heard Anas narrate from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said, "Let not the believer" — or he said "any of you" — "wish for death; and if he must, let him say: O Allah, keep me alive as long as life is good for me, and take my life when death is good for me."
