حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا السُّمَيْطُ السَّدُوسِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ فَتَحْنَا مَكَّةَ ثُمَّ إِنَّا غَزَوْنَا حُنَيْنًا فَجَاءَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ بِأَحْسَنِ صُفُوفٍ رَأَيْتُ أَوْ رَأَيْتَ فَصُفَّ الْخَيْلُ ثُمَّ صُفَّتْ الْمُقَاتِلَةُ ثُمَّ صُفَّتْ النِّسَاءُ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ صُفَّتْ الْغَنَمُ ثُمَّ صُفَّتْ النَّعَمُ قَالَ وَنَحْنُ بَشَرٌ كَثِيرٌ قَدْ بَلَغْنَا سِتَّةَ آلَافٍ وَعَلَى مُجَنِّبَةِ خَيْلِنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَتْ خُيُولُنَا تَلُوذُ خَلْفَ ظُهُورِنَا قَالَ فَلَمْ نَلْبَثْ أَنْ انْكَشَفَتْ خُيُولُنَا وَفَرَّتْ الْأَعْرَابُ وَمَنْ نَعْلَمُ مِنْ النَّاسِ قَالَ فَنَادَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا لَلْمُهَاجِرِينَ يَا لَلْمُهَاجِرِينَ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا لَلْأَنْصَارِ يَا لَلْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ أَنَسٌ هَذَا حَدِيثُ عِمِّيَّةٍ قَالَ قُلْنَا لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَتَقَدَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَيْمُ اللَّهِ مَا أَتَيْنَاهُمْ حَتَّى هَزَمَهُمْ اللَّهُ قَالَ فَقَبَضْنَا ذَلِكَ الْمَالَ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى الطَّائِفِ فَحَاصَرْنَاهُمْ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى مَكَّةَ قَالَ فَنَزَلْنَا فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِي الرَّجُلَ الْمِائَةَ وَيُعْطِي الرَّجُلَ الْمِائَةَ قَالَ فَتَحَدَّثَ الْأَنْصَارُ بَيْنَهَا أَمَّا مَنْ قَاتَلَهُ فَيُعْطِيهِ وَأَمَّا مَنْ لَمْ يُقَاتِلْهُ فَلَا يُعْطِيهِ قَالَ فَرُفِعَ الْحَدِيثُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِسَرَاةِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ أَنْ يَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا يَدْخُلْ عَلَيَّ إِلَّا أَنْصَارِيٌّ أَوْ الْأَنْصَارُ قَالَ فَدَخَلْنَا الْقُبَّةَ حَتَّى مَلَأْنَا الْقُبَّةَ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ مَا حَدِيثٌ أَتَانِي قَالُوا مَا أَتَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَا حَدِيثٌ أَتَانِي قَالُوا مَا أَتَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَلَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالْأَمْوَالِ وَتَذْهَبُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قَالُوا رَضِينَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أَخَذَ النَّاسُ شِعْبًا وَأَخَذَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ شِعْبًا لَأَخَذْتُ شِعْبَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَضِينَا قَالَ فَارْضَوْا أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ.
English Translation
Arim told us, Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman al-Taymi told us, he said, I heard my father say, al-Sumayt al-Sadusi told us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: We conquered Mecca, then we fought at Hunayn. The polytheists came in the finest ranks I have ever seen, or you have ever seen. The cavalry was arrayed, then the infantry was arrayed, then the women were arrayed behind that, then the sheep were arrayed, then the cattle were arrayed. He said: And we were many people, we had reached six thousand, and on the flank of our cavalry was Khalid ibn al-Walid. He said: Our horses began to take refuge behind our backs. He said: Before long our cavalry broke and the bedouins and those we knew among the people fled. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, called out, "O Emigrants! O Emigrants!" then he said, "O Ansar! O Ansar!" Anas said: This is a report of confusion. He said: We said, "At your service, O Messenger of Allah." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then advanced, and by Allah, we had not even reached them before Allah had defeated them. He said: Then we seized that wealth, then we set off to al-Ta'if and besieged them for forty nights, then we returned to Mecca. He said: We settled there, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, began giving a hundred to this man and a hundred to that man. He said: The Ansar spoke among themselves, saying, "As for whoever fought him, he gives to him, but as for whoever did not fight, he does not give to him." He said: This talk reached the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, so he ordered the notables of the Emigrants and the Ansar to come in to him, then he said, "Let no one enter upon me except an Ansari," or "the Ansar." He said: So we entered the tent until we filled it. The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "O assembly of Ansar" - or words to that effect - "what talk has reached me?" They said, "What has reached you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "What talk has reached me?" They said, "What has reached you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Are you not content that the people go away with the wealth while you go away with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, until you enter your homes?" They said, "We are content, O Messenger of Allah." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "If the people were to take one valley and the Ansar another valley, I would take the valley of the Ansar." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are content." He said, "Then be content" - or words to that effect.
