English Translation
Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, who said: Anas was asked whether the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dyed his hair. He said: He had seen no more than about seventeen or twenty gray hairs at the front of his beard, and he said he was not marred by the gray. It was said to Anas, "Is it a blemish?" He said, "All of you dislike it, but Abu Bakr dyed with henna and katam, and Umar dyed with henna."
