حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَنْظُرَنَّ إِلَى صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَيْفَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ فَكَبَّرَ فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ شِمَالَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ رَفَعَهُمَا مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ رَفَعَهُمَا مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا سَجَدَ وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ بِذَلِكَ الْمَنْزِلِ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ فَافْتَرَشَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُسْرَى وَحَدَّ مِرْفَقَهُ الأَيْمَنَ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَقَبَضَ ثِنْتَيْنِ وَحَلَّقَ حَلْقَةً وَرَأَيْتُهُ يَقُولُ هَكَذَا . وَحَلَّقَ بِشْرٌ الإِبْهَامَ وَالْوُسْطَى وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ .
English Translation
Hadrat Wa'il ibn Hujr (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'I said (to myself) that I would certainly observe the prayer of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — how he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) prays.' He says: 'The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood up, faced the qiblah, said the takbir, and raised his blessed hands until they were level with his blessed ears. Then he held his left hand with his right. When he intended to bow, he raised them likewise. Then he placed his blessed hands on his knees. When he raised his blessed head from bowing, he raised them likewise. When he prostrated, he placed his blessed head between his hands. Then he sat and spread his left foot (underneath him) and placed his blessed left hand on his left thigh, and rested his right elbow on his right thigh. He closed two fingers and made a ring.' He says: 'I saw him doing like this.' Bishr (the narrator) demonstrated by making a ring with the thumb and middle finger and pointing with the index finger.
Urdu Translation
حضرت وائل بن حُجر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: میں نے (دل میں) کہا کہ میں ضرور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی نماز دیکھوں گا کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کیسے نماز پڑھتے ہیں۔ فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کھڑے ہوئے، قبلہ رُخ ہوئے، تکبیر فرمائی اور اپنے ہاتھ مبارک بلند فرمائے یہاں تک کہ وہ کانوں کے برابر ہو گئے۔ پھر اپنا بایاں ہاتھ دائیں ہاتھ سے پکڑا۔ جب رکوع کرنا چاہا تو اسی طرح ہاتھ بلند فرمائے۔ پھر ہاتھ مبارک اپنے گھٹنوں پر رکھے۔ جب رکوع سے سرِ اقدس اٹھایا تو اسی طرح ہاتھ بلند فرمائے۔ جب سجدہ فرمایا تو سرِ اقدس اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں کے درمیان رکھا۔ پھر بیٹھے اور بایاں پاؤں بچھایا اور بایاں ہاتھ مبارک بائیں ران پر رکھا اور دائیں کہنی کو دائیں ران پر رکھا، دو انگلیاں بند کیں اور حلقہ بنایا — اور میں نے دیکھا کہ وہ اس طرح کر رہے تھے۔ بِشر نے انگوٹھے اور بیچ کی انگلی سے حلقہ بنایا اور شہادت کی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا۔
