Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ الأَنْطَاكِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ أَصَابَ رَجُلاً جُرْحٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ احْتَلَمَ فَأُمِرَ بِالاِغْتِسَالِ فَاغْتَسَلَ فَمَاتَ فَبَلَغَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " قَتَلُوهُ قَتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ شِفَاءُ الْعِيِّ السُّؤَالَ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates: 'During the blessed era of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), a man was wounded. Then he had a wet dream. He was told to bathe, so he bathed and died. When this reached the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "They killed him! May Allah destroy them! Was not the cure for ignorance asking?"'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے عہدِ مبارک میں ایک شخص کو زخم لگا۔ پھر اسے احتلام ہو گیا۔ اسے غسل کا حکم دیا گیا تو اس نے غسل کیا اور مر گیا۔ جب یہ خبر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تک پہنچی تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: انہوں نے اسے مار ڈالا! اللہ انہیں مارے! کیا جہالت کا علاج سوال نہ تھا؟
